As part of the UFI Global CEO Summit 2026 – one of the most exclusive gatherings in the global exhibition and events industry – VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center took on the role of host for the official Summit Dinner. The festive evening was held in the impressive setting of Vienna City Hall, providing a truly special backdrop for a special occasion.
Event organizers and venue operators from around the world came together in the historic Stone Hall and the City Senate Chamber to enjoy a shared evening in Vienna. International guests were welcomed by our Managing Directors Martina Candillo and Katharina Weishaupt, who represented VIECON Messe Wien with warmth and confidence in their role as hosts.
A cultural highlight of the evening was the exclusive performance by the lead cast of The Phantom of the Opera from Vienna’s Raimund Theater. The musical performance by Anton Zetterholm, Lisanne Clémence Veeneman, and Roy Goldman from the current production received standing ovations from the audience. The culinary experience was curated by our long-standing catering partner Gerstner, who delighted guests with a menu combining regional quality and international flair.
Sustainability plays a central role at VIECON in all areas – not only at our own venue. It was therefore important for us to make this commitment visible at the UFI Summit Dinner as well. The event was certified as a Green Event in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel. From arrival by Vienna’s tram system to the selection of partners, environmentally friendly solutions were prioritized throughout.
In this way, we demonstrated that responsible event management is not an add-on, but an integral part of our values.
A visible sign of appreciation followed: VIECON was awarded the official Silver Plate by UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, recognizing our role as Conference Host. We are particularly proud of this distinction.
Already on the day before the Summit Dinner, we had the pleasure of welcoming CEO Summit participants to our venue, offering personal guided tours and insights into our role within Vienna’s event landscape. As a certified Green Venue, VIECON regularly opens its doors to national and international guests and views these encounters as a key element of active industry networking.
